Pre-Kindergarten
Bible Baptist School's Pre-K Program gives support to the home in a child's early Christian training by incorporating "hands-on" learning activities designed to foster social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth in each student.
Social/Emotional Development
Children will receive instruction in and practice the following social skills:
- Using words to express a thought or need individually and in a group setting
- Functioning in large and small group settings
- Listening and following directions in large and small group settings
- Sharing
- Waiting for a turn
- Recognizing and responding to authority figures
- Accepting consequences of unacceptable behaviors
- Listening to a story in a group setting without being distracted
Spiritual Development/Bible
Children will:
- be introduced to Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments
- be introduced to the Biblical accounts of Christmas and Easter
- learn songs relating to the Bible stories
- practice Christian Character Traits
- learn Bible verses
Intellectual Development
Pre-Reading
Children will:
- be introduced to all letters of the alphabet in and out of sequence in both large and small group activities
- sing and say the alphabet by rote
- learn to identify many letters of the alphabet, particularly the letters in their names
- be introduced to the phonetic sound of each letter of the alphabet
Pre-Math
Children will:
- Count to 10 by rote
- Learn to identify the numbers 1-10
- Be introduced to simple patterns (a-b-a-b-, etc.)
Science and Social Studies
Children will be introduced to a wide variety of themes such as transportation, animals in the winter, seasons, holidays, nursery rhymes, colors, shapes, teddy bears, insects, pets, and farm animals.
