Preparing children academically and spiritually for a life of service
Here at Bible Baptist High School, there are many diverse and valuable opportunities for learning and growth outside of the classroom. In regards to extra and co-curricular activities, Bible Baptist emphasizes quality and a wide selection for students of varying abilities and talents. If a student has the voice of an angel, he/she can join our award-winning chorale or our High School Singers group which has sung the National Anthem at a Hershey Bears game on regional television. If a student has the potential to be a future lawyer or politician, they can join the Forensics Team which defeated every public school in the region at their district tournament at Messiah College. If a student has a passion for drama, they can participate in musicals such as the Sound of Music or Fiddler on the Roof, both of which were nominated for high school Apollo Awards. There are a multitude of other clubs and groups such as the baseball club, the digital photography club, the Italian Language and Culture Club, or the Art Club. There are many great extra-curricular opportunities at Bible Baptist that can be explored further by clicking on the links on the side of the page.

The Bible Baptist Forensics Team is a speech, debate, and drama team that both improves the communication skills of students and prepares them for competition in tournaments in which the team competes in. Students can participate in Policy Debate, Parliamentary Debate, informative and persuasive speech, dramatic and humorous interpretation, duo interpretation, interpretation of literature and poetry, as well as many other events. The team belongs to several forensics leagues including the Harrisburg Area Debate League (HADL), the Pennsylvania High School Speech League (PHSSL), and the National Forensics Team (NFL). The team also competes in about 7 tournaments a year around the state in addition to several local tournaments at local public high schools. The team meets every Wednesday during Period I and from 3:00-6:00 after school. Student leadership opportunities are also available on the team as it has a student president, vice-president, treasurer, and multiple group captains. The team is also involved in an official service project with Bethesda Mission along with several other service projects throughout the year such as book drives for underprivileged kids.
The team, although inexperienced in its first year, had several notable successes including a 5th place finish (out of 20 schools) at its first tournament at Delone Catholic High School, a Newcomer of the Year Award at the Martin Luther King Jr. Tournament in Wilkes-Barre (35 schools), a 2nd place finish at the PHSSL District Tournament (behind only Trinity High School), and a 3rd place victory at the PHSSL State Tournament for Elliot Lee in Persuasive Speech (110 schools). In its first year, the team had over 25 members as it established itself as one of the better teams in the state.

Students with a passion for both in-school and out of school service belong on the Service and Leadership Team. Students must read a designated book on Christian Service and must fill out an accompanying questionnaire in order to join Salt. Salt meets at least once a week; often on Tuesday morning. Salt is responsible for in-school services such as planning Homecoming, basketball, volleyball, and dodgeball tournaments, and the National Day of Prayer Breakfast. SALT is also actively involved in out of school service projects. For example, SALT planned J-5 Day in 2011, a day in which SALT raised over 1,000 dollars to donate to charity helping the Earthquake victims in Japan.
