TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Attend all faculty and staff meetings.
  2. Attend high school graduation ceremonies, Christmas and spring musicals, MACSA Convention, PTF meetings and Spring Open House.
  3. Assume supervision duties before school, after school and during lunch as assigned by building principal.
  4. Maintain accurate attendance records.
  5. Maintain an accurate and updated plan book (plan book is to be presented to the building principal by 1st period Monday or first day of instructional week.)
  6. Attend faculty devotions when not scheduled for before school duties.
  7. Teach courses as assigned by administrator.
  8. Keep open channels of communication with the school and home.
  9. Hold a bachelor's degree and attain ACSI certification.
  10. Support wholeheartedly the faith, philosophy and mission statements of the school.
  11. Support all school policies as outlined in the student and faculty handbooks.
  12. Submit to the building principal field trip, book requisition and supply request forms.
  13. Pray regularly for and seek the salvation and/or spiritual maturing of all students in your class.
  14. Prepare for the administration the annual goal statement and self-evaluation form.
  15. Resolve all conflicts with parents, students, administrator and fellow workers according to Matthew 18:15-17.
  16. Manifest by precept and example the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a role model (I Timothy 4:12) both in and out of school to pupils (Luke 6:40), and as an example to parents and fellow faculty members in judgment, respect, and Christian living. This includes, but is not limited to, the refraining from such activities as the use of alcohol, tobacco, illicit drugs, and the use of vulgar and profane language. (Col. 3:17; Titus 2:7-8; I Thess. 2:10, 5:18, 22; James 3:17-18).
  17. Agree that the Scripture dictates standards of sexual behavior. Any promiscuity, heterosexual activity outside of marriage, homosexuality, or other deviant sexual behavior is forbidden and as such violates the requirement of being a role model. The unique roles of male and female are clearly defined in Scripture. Romans 1:24-32 states that God recognizes homosexuals and other deviates as perverted. Such deviation from Scriptural standards is grounds for termination. (Romans 12:1-2; I Cor. 6:9-20; Ephesians 4:1-11, 5:35; I Thess. 4:3-8; I Tim. 4:12; II Tim. 2:19-22; I Peter 1:15-16; I John 3:1-3).
  18. Elementary classroom teachers must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
